Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Coach

Real change. Less time.

Are you ready to tell your story?

I'm Dr. Trevor James. I'm a narcissistic abuse recovery coach with nearly two decades of experience in the mental health field.

Whether you're still in a relationship with a narcissist or trying to recover from one, the effects on your sense of self can be devastating. The confusion, self-doubt, and exhaustion you're feeling are a normal response to an abnormal situation.

You don't have to figure this out alone. I've developed a step-by-step program to help you understand what happened, reclaim your sense of who you are, and move forward with clarity.

How It Works — and Why It's So Hard to See

Narcissistic abuse can be subtle and often doesn’t look like abuse from the outside. It typically begins with idealization — you're made to feel special, chosen, deeply understood. That bond becomes the hook.

Then the dynamic shifts. Criticism replaces affirmation. Your perceptions are dismissed or denied. The cycle of warmth and cruelty keeps you off-balance, focused on managing their moods rather than your own needs.

Over time, self-abandonment becomes a survival strategy. By the time most people seek help, the most serious damage isn't just what was done to them — it's who they became in order to cope.

How We Work Together

Recovery from narcissistic abuse requires more than talking about what happened. It requires working with the whole person — mind, body, and the patterns that formed long before this relationship began.

We start by making sense of your story. Understanding the dynamic you were in — clearly and without self-blame — is the foundation everything else builds on.

From there, we work somatically, addressing the ways the experience lives in your body. Chronic stress, hypervigilance, and emotional shutdown don't resolve through insight alone. We work directly with the nervous system to help you feel safe again.

Finally, we focus on the practical — rebuilding boundaries, restoring self-trust, and developing concrete tools for navigating relationships going forward.

Client Feedback

“My time with Dr. James was extremely helpful. He invited me to show up and do the work required to really connect with my emotions and their physical counterparts. I learned what it meant to be embodied in a meaningful way, identifying how emotions arise in my body. I would highly recommend Dr. James to anyone who's ready to put in the work and really show up to learn about themselves and heal along the way.”
